NTUA Scholarship
Scholarship Sponsored by Navajo Tribal Utility Authority
Overview
This scholarship may be applied to either undergraduate or graduate degree programs. Applicants must inform NTUA promptly of any changes to the information submitted on their application.
Eligibility
To be eligible, applicants must meet all of the following:
1) Educational status — one of the following:
- High school graduate, or expecting to graduate high school by the date you enroll in college/university; or
- Holder of (or expecting to receive) a high-school equivalency certificate by the date you enroll; or
- Currently enrolled in college/university with the required cumulative GPA (see item 4).
2) Field of study — enrolled in a program related to the multi-service utility industry. Examples include: business, management, administration, accounting, electrical/civil/environmental engineering, environmental studies, or information technology.
3) Full‑time enrollment — as defined by the student’s institution, or:
- Undergraduate: minimum 12 credit hours per semester; or
- Graduate: minimum 9 credit hours per semester.
4) Academic standing — maintain the minimum cumulative GPA:
- Undergraduate: 2.00 or higher;
- Graduate: 3.00 or higher.
Application requirements and packet
Submit official/original documents for every item below by the stated deadline. Incomplete application packets will not be considered.
Required documents:
- Completed Scholarship Application form.
- Letter of Interest: a standard business-style letter describing why you seek this scholarship and explaining how your chosen degree aligns with the multi‑service utility industry. (Upload with online application.)
- Letter of Acceptance/Admission to a college or university dated within the last two years, OR a current Enrollment Verification. (Upload with online application.)
- Navajo Chapter affiliation: a copy of your Navajo Nation Voter Registration Card.
- Official, sealed transcripts from high school, college, or university. Electronic transcripts are acceptable only if sent directly by the institution (for example, via the National Student Clearinghouse). Institutions can email e-transcripts to NTUAScholarship@ntua.com.
- Official Certificate of Indian Blood (green, embossed CIB). Photocopies will not be accepted. Note: the original CIB will not be returned.
Submission instructions and deadline
- No faxed or applicant‑emailed documents will be accepted, except for transcripts emailed directly from the issuing institution. All other items must be original/official and submitted as specified.
- Applications and all required documents (online submissions plus physical copies such as the sealed transcripts, original CIB, and voter registration card) must be postmarked or hand-delivered to the NTUA Training Department by the application deadline (the deadline listed on the scholarship announcement).
