WOCN Society Educational Scholarship Program
The Wound, Ostomy, and Continence Nurses Society (WOCN) has established an educational scholarship program to address the growing global need for WOC nurses and to support the profession’s continued growth. The program is administered by the Scholarship Committee under the auspices of the WOCN Society Foundation, which is responsible for raising, maintaining, and disbursing award funds. Scholarships are made possible through contributions from individual members and industry partners. Award amounts are provided as partial scholarships to eligible recipients.
Description: The program funds educational advancement for nurses pursuing wound, ostomy, and continence (WOC) practice or advanced study, with multiple awards administered through the Foundation.
Award Value: Partial scholarships are awarded; the program funds include $2,000 awards per recipient where specified by the Foundation.
Eligibility: Eligibility requirements vary by specific scholarship; applicants should consult the individual program sections for detailed criteria.
- Administered by the Scholarship Committee and WOCN Society Foundation.
- Funded by member and industry contributions.
- Partial scholarships support WOC education and advanced study.
- Specific eligibility and award details are defined per scholarship type.
WOCN Accredited Educational Scholarship
The WOCN Accredited Educational Scholarship supports nurses who wish to attend a WOCN-accredited Wound, Ostomy, and Continence Nursing Education Program (WOCNEP). These awards are intended to reduce financial barriers for nurses entering WOC practice through accredited education. The Scholarship Committee evaluates applicants based on program-specific documentation and professional recommendations. Awards are competitive and designed to encourage new entrants into WOC nursing.
Description: Scholarships are available to applicants accepted to, enrolled in, or recently completed (within three months) a WOCN-accredited WOCNEP.
Eligibility: Applicants must be current members of the WOCN Society and provide required documentation and references; applicants who received a WOCN Foundation educational scholarship within the last three years are ineligible.

- Required: current WOCN membership and proof of acceptance, enrollment, or recent completion.
- Application must include two professional letters of recommendation (one preferably from current employer) and a complete application.
- Applicants who received a Foundation educational scholarship in the past three years are not eligible.
WOCN Advanced Educational Scholarship
The WOCN Advanced Educational Scholarship assists nurses pursuing graduate-level study or advanced practice preparation, including Master’s, Doctoral, or Advance Practice Professional (APP) programs. Funds raised through the WOCN Foundation offset the costs associated with higher-degree and advanced practice education to support professional and academic advancement. The scholarship prioritizes applicants with a demonstrated history in WOC nursing and relevant certifications. Awards are intended to foster leadership and advanced clinical expertise within the specialty.
