Larry J. May Hospitality Management Scholarship Fund
Scholarship Sponsored by Idaho Community Foundation
Overview
This scholarship is available to Idaho residents pursuing education or training in hospitality fields. Awards emphasize a candidate’s commitment to furthering their education and evidence of personal achievement through extracurricular involvement, leadership, and/or work history rather than primarily by GPA.
Eligibility
- Must be a resident of Idaho.
- Enrolled (full-time or part-time) in a hospitality-related program at an accredited public or private college or university. Both students seeking a degree and those pursuing a certificate may apply.
- Examples of eligible program areas include (but are not limited to): hotel/lodging, culinary/restaurant, entertainment/golf club, resort management, and travel/tourism.
- Selection is based chiefly on the applicant’s motivation for additional education or training and demonstrated personal accomplishments (outside interests, leadership roles, volunteer/service, and/or employment). Academic GPA or class rank will not be the primary factor.
- Previous recipients are eligible to apply again.
Required Application Materials
- Most recent unofficial transcript (high school or college).
- A written personal statement, 1–3 pages, that addresses:

How to Apply
- Complete the application and gather all required materials listed above.
- Merge every document into one PDF file. (Files shared as Google Docs will not be accepted.)
