Eligibility & Entry
The contest is open to U.S. residents who have applied to or are enrolled full time in a beautician, esthetician, or cosmetology program. Each person may submit only one entry, and immediate family members of Buy-Rite Beauty employees are not eligible. Submissions are accepted by email and must meet the stated deadline. No purchase is necessary to enter.

Submission Guidelines
Applicants must submit a 500–1,000 word essay describing their most meaningful achievement and its relevance to their future in the beauty industry. Submissions should follow the specified file-naming convention and include required contact and school information in the submission email. Follow the formatting and content guidelines precisely to ensure eligibility.

Required Materials: File name must use full name, state, and date of birth (for example: Chipper-Jones-GA-4-24-1972). The submission email must include full name, date of birth, email address, postal address, the school the student is enrolled in or applied to, and a phone number.

Judging & Notification
Buy-Rite Beauty’s internal panel of judges will evaluate essays and select the winner. Judging emphasizes clarity, thematic consistency, engagement, and proper use of grammar and spelling. The winner will be selected during December and announced on the company website after the winner and their family have been notified. Decisions by the judging panel are final.

Award Payment
The scholarship award will be paid directly to an accredited cosmetology school where the student is currently enrolled or plans to enroll. This ensures funds are used for educational expenses rather than paid directly to the student. Applicants should confirm the school’s accreditation and provide accurate enrollment or intent-to-enroll information in their submission. Payment processing follows verification of the recipient’s enrollment status.
