Eligibility & Selection
Eligibility is limited to current students in eligible undergraduate programs and graduating high school seniors who will be working toward a bachelor's or associate's degree. Applicants must meet the enrollment criteria at the time of application. Selection favors students who demonstrate ambition, diligence, leadership, and an entrepreneurial mindset. The scholarship committee reviews submissions and selects recipients based on those qualities and the strength of the application.
Eligibility: Open to U.S.-based students enrolled in eligible associate or bachelor's degree programs, including graduating high school seniors planning to enroll in such programs.
Selection Criteria: Candidates are evaluated on demonstrated ambition, work ethic, leadership, and entrepreneurial spirit as expressed in their application essay.

How to Apply
Applicants submit a short essay of no more than 500 words responding to a specific prompt about their future and a RentHop listing. The essay should imagine the applicant 10 years after graduation, describe an ideal day in a RentHop listing, and include a link to that listing. Submissions are made through the Scholarship Application Form. Finalists may be invited to appear on RentHop’s blog as part of the selection process.

Awards & Disbursement
The scholarship award includes a $1,000 cash scholarship. RentHop coordinates with the recipient’s school to confirm policies for external scholarships and, if required, will issue scholarship checks directly to the institution. Specific timing and method of disbursement follow the school’s requirements and RentHop’s administrative process. All scholarship rules are subject to review by the RentHop Scholarship Board.
Award Value: Cash scholarship of $1,000 awarded to the selected recipient(s).
Disbursement: RentHop will verify school policies and may send scholarship funds directly to the recipient’s institution if required.
