Engineering/Geology Scholarship
Scholarship Sponsored by Rocky Mountain Coal Mining Institute
Eligibility
- Open to students enrolled in a four-year college or university.
- Applicants must be U.S. citizens and residents of one of the RMMI member states.
- Candidates should be pursuing a career in the mining industry.
Award
- Recipients receive an all‑expenses‑paid trip to the RMMI Annual Meeting and Conference held in late June. This includes the chance to meet industry leaders and attend all technical sessions during the conference.
Application instructions
- Submit all required materials; incomplete applications will not be reviewed.
- On a separate sheet, provide a brief autobiography (150 words maximum). Your autobiography should note any academic and athletic honors, extracurricular activities, and explain why you believe you are deserving of this scholarship.
Required supporting materials (mandatory)
1. Three references
- For each reference include: full name, mailing address, business and home phone numbers, employer or company name, and how many years you have known the person. Please attach letters of reference or recommendation from these individuals.
2. Work history
- Provide a complete record of your employment. For every job list the employer’s name, address, phone number, your supervisor’s name, a description of duties performed, dates or length of service, and the reason you left.
3. Short answer responses (limit each to 100 words or less)
a. Why are you pursuing your current degree?
b. What are your career plans after graduation?
4. Unofficial transcript
- Include an unofficial transcript showing current enrollment.
